the HERC FAMILY LEGACY

The Herc family has been serving south east Michigan for many, many years.  In 1946, Walter Herc, Bob's father, started the family's first restaurant, Herc's Fine Food on Fenkell and Livernois in Detroit.  Then, in 1957, the family opened Herc's Beef Buffet at 8 mile and Evergreen.  In1972 they relocated Herc's Beef Buffet to Grand River and Middlebelt where they served great food for 25 years.  Bob Herc then came to New Hudson, MI in November of 1994 and started his famous Bob's Carry Out Deli.

Not only has Bob created a local staple in the downtown New Hudson corridor, for the last 25 years his deli has also become the gathering place for what has come to be known as 'The Table of Knowledge'.  A place where many local and colorful characters both young and old can share stories, hang out, eat great food and just have a good time.  Rumor has it that Bob knows just about every fact from the Godfather movies.  Just ask!

Turns out that Bob also makes some really good food.  From his famous breakfast burritos to his new corned beef sliders, there's plenty to choose from.  So head on over to Bob's Carry Out Deli and ask him to make you a sandwich. You will be glad you did.
